Internship
The program Business Administration contains a practical semester, which is included in the course of studies and can be accomplished in a business or in an institution.
The internship should make students familiar with professional life, help them to use knowledge and abilities gained in the previous studies by concrete problems and let them describe and analyse the experiences they made during their practical activities. As far as possible, the students should work under supervision on the solution of business problems, e.g. within the participation in projects.
The internship offers businesses/institutions the possibility:
- to prove the utilisation of students in limited fields of activity and getting to know their abilities,
- to let students solve small problems,
- for indirectly exerting influence on the vocational focus of the department.
The internship consists of at least 20 continuous weeks (maximum 26 weeks) with in the business/institution usual weekly hours of work. Normally, the students accomplish the internship within the 6th semester. During the internship the students are supervised by a professor. Base for the collaboration is a contract, which is concluded between the business/institution, the student and the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. The department of Management Sciences provides the students with an internship contract form.
